Help us build a dynasty

We are a small, in-person team in Las Vegas changing the trajectory of independent businesses and the people who run them. Two roles are open, and below them is everything you would be signing up for.

Our values

Six words for who we are. Seven habits for how we work.

  • Gritty
  • Honest
  • Engaged
  • Frugal
  • Optimistic
  • Flexible

Grow, sustainably

We always strive to do more with less and aren’t building a company only to succumb to the VC hamster wheel.

FrugalGritty

Be a cockroach

One thing we’re really good at is outlasting everyone around us. We call this timing, rather than luck.

OptimisticFlexibleGritty

Ask the difficult questions, respectfully

We aren’t afraid to challenge, question and have continuous open communication that drives progress and efficiency.

HonestFlexibleEngaged

Trust but verify

Trust and respect by default, but that trust and respect isn’t blind. It is earned and maintained in a meritocratic way.

EngagedOptimistic

Share before ready

We share early, share often and kill our darlings. We support an environment that enables this behavior amongst our peers.

HonestFlexible

Product first

When we focus on the user and how every decision affects them, we build something people love. Everything else follows.

Check your ego at the door

We aligned on the macro but may disagree in the micro. Remember, we’re on the same team.

The Deal

Every great team has an understanding of what they expect from each other, what they’re building, and what it costs to be part of it. This is ours. We call it The Deal.

The Deal applies to everyone. Founders, first hires, hire #50. Nobody outranks it.

If you’re reading this as a candidate: this is the most honest document we’ll show you. If it fires you up, we should talk. If it makes you tired, no hard feelings. Better we both know now.

We’re building a dynasty

We are building a billion dollar company that changes the trajectory of independent businesses and the people who run them. Everything in this document flows from that.

One Super Bowl is a good season. We’re after something bigger: a team that wins year after year. A team building a dynasty practices differently, shows up differently, and holds a higher standard than a team playing out the season. That’s the whole deal.

What’s in it for you

The Deal goes both ways, and working at Reins is not just about the company. Part of building a business this way is that it offers a really special opportunity for everyone who’s a part of it. We aim to build a big company that solves a really important set of problems for real people. That can lead to financial success for you and your family, and it can be the ride of your lifetime. You’ll make lifelong friends, earn new skills, and work on something with purpose.

Most importantly: having done this before, we can confidently say you’ll learn and grow more personally at a startup like Reins than almost any other career opportunity you could choose.

Day to day, here’s what you can count on from us:

  • The truth. You’ll always know where you stand. We don’t manage by ambiguity and we don’t let problems fester until your next 1:1.
  • Teammates who carry their weight. The standard applies to everyone, so you’ll never be the only one giving a shit.
  • A whole life. Home for dinner most nights. A team that knows the difference between a sprint and a death march.

What we expect from each other

Our values cover who we are and how we work: honest, gritty, asking the difficult questions respectfully, checking your ego at the door. The Deal doesn’t repeat them. It covers the commitment: how we show up for each other.

  1. Relentless effort.

Effort is the price of admission. Greatness is a daily decision, and every play gets run at full speed, whether you’re the one leading it or not. No reason, no excuse, to take your foot off the gas.

What this doesn’t mean: grinding for optics or ego.

  2. If you’re 10 minutes early, you’re 5 minutes late.

Show up on time and prepared. Being late tells your team their time is worth less than yours. Time is our most cherished asset.

What this doesn’t mean: zero grace. Life happens. Communicate and it’s a non-issue. It’s the pattern, and the silence, that break The Deal.

  3. Be where your feet are.

When we’re together, we’re together. Get off your phone and computer. Full attention is the cheapest form of respect on any team.

What this doesn’t mean: half-attending bad meetings. If a meeting doesn’t deserve your attention, fix the meeting.

  4. Own your shit.

Every ball has one owner. If it’s yours, carry it to the end zone or hand it off loudly and clearly. Balls get dropped on every team. On this team, they never get dropped silently.

What this doesn’t mean: doing everything alone. Asking for help early is ownership. Hiding a problem until it explodes is the opposite.

  5. Play for the front of the jersey.

The name on the front outranks the name on the back. We win as Reins and we lose as Reins. And you wear the jersey everywhere: with customers, partners, and strangers, you are Reins. Handle it with care.

What this doesn’t mean: no individual ambition. Be great and get recognized. Just never at your teammate’s expense.

  6. Default on. Go dark loudly.

Work is a priority that integrates into your life. When the business genuinely needs you (an evening, a weekend, a crunch) you opt in, because your teammates would do the same for you. And everyone goes dark sometimes. Take it. Just never disappear on your team: say when you’re out, hand off what you own, and make it clean. Details in our policies.

What this doesn’t mean: 24/7 availability or performative responsiveness. Your dark time is yours. The Deal is about the handoff.

The bench

We’d rather have a hole in the roster than a hole in The Deal. If this isn’t for you, as a candidate or a teammate, that’s an honest answer and we’ll respect it. What we won’t do is lower the bar. The moment we do, we’ve broken The Deal with everyone still keeping it.

Signed by everyone who wears the jersey.

The practical side

The Deal covers how we work. This is the rest of it.

Together, in Las Vegas

We build in one room. Moving here? There is a relocation guide waiting for you, from housing to the best tacos.

Room to grow

You will learn more, faster, at a company this size than almost anywhere else you could choose. We have done this before.

Time off that is yours

Paid time off, and a team that goes dark cleanly: say when you are out, hand off what you own, and take it.

Nothing that fits yet?
